90:1 Դարձ Արիստակեայ ի Նիկիոյ, եւ հաւատալ ազգականացն, եւ որ ինչ ի Գառնի շինուածք:
| 90:1 The return of Aristakēs from Nicaea, the conversion of his kinsmen, and the constructions at Garni:

90:2 Երթեալ Արիստակէս ընդ մեծին Ղեւոնդի, հասանէ ի քաղաքն Նիկիացւոց, ուր եղեն ժողովեալ հարք երեք հարիւր եւ ութեւտասն ի քակտումն արիանոսաց. զորս նզովեալ մերժեցին ի հաղորդութենէ եկեղեցւոյ. սոյնպէս եւ ինքնակալն արտասահմանեաց ի մետաղս:
| 90:2 Aristakēs traveled with Leontius the Great to the city of Nicaea, where the three hundred and eighteen fathers had assembled to overthrow the Arians. These they anathematized and excommunicated from communion with the church, and in like manner the emperor deported them to the mines:

90:3 Ապա դարձեալ Արիստակէս արժանահաւատ բանիւ, եւ քսան կանոնեալ գլխովք ժողովոյն` գայ հանդիպի հաւրն եւ արքային ի Վաղարշապատ քաղաքի:
| 90:3 Then Aristakes returned with the orthodox creed and the twenty canonical chapters of the council and met his father and the king in the city of Vaḷarshapat:

90:4 Ընդ որ ուրախացեալ սրբոյն Գրիգորի, սուղ ինչ գլուխս յինքենէ ի կանոնս ժողովոյն յաւելու, վասն առաւել զգուշութեան իւրոյ վիճակին:
| 90:4 Saint Gregory was delighted and added a few chapters of his own to the canons of the council to take greater care of his diocese:

90:5 Յայնմ ժամու եւ ազգային նոցա Կամսար մկրտի իւրայովքն հանդերձ ի ձեռն մեծին Գրիգորի. արքայի ընդունելով ի ջրոյն` տայ նմա ժառանգութիւն զմեծ դաստակերտն Արտաշիսի, որ այժմ ասի Դրասխանակերտ, եւ զգաւառն Շիրակ, որպէս ազգականի իւրում եւ մտերիմ հարազատի:
| 90:5 At that time their kinsman Kamsar was baptized with his relatives by Gregory the Great. The king, receiving him from the water, gave him as inheritance the great property of Artashēs, which is now called Draskhanakert, and the province of Shirak, as to his kinsman and loyal brother:

90:6 Այլ նա ոչ աւելի բաւեալ քան զեաւթն աւուրս յետ մկրտութեանն, վախճանի:
| 90:6 But he did not survive more than seven days after his baptism before dying:

90:7 Բայց թագաւորին Տրդատայ մխիթարեալ զգլուխ որդւոցն Կամսարայ զԱրշաւիր` զինքն փոխանակ ծնողին սահմանելով, ազգ զնա սերէ յանուն հաւրն, եւ կարգէ ի թիւ նախարարութեանց:
| 90:7 However, King Trdat consoled Arshavir, the eldest of Kamsar’s sons, by putting him in his father’s place, ennobling him in his father’s name, and setting him among the number of the princely houses:

90:8 Յաւելու եւ այլ պարգեւս - զքաղաքն Երուանդայ եւ զնորին գաւառն մինչեւ ցկատար ձորոյն մեծի. միայն զի ի մտաց նորա հեռացուսցէ զյիշատակ բնիկ աշխարհին որ Պահլաւն կոչի, որպէս զի անվրդով զհաւատսն պահիցէ:
| 90:8 He also added other gifts, the city of Eruand and the province of the same as far as the end of the great valley, only that he might banish from his mind the memory of his original land called Pahlav so that he might keep faith unswervingly:

90:9 Իսկ Արշաւիր առաւել սիրեալ զգաւառն` յիւր անուն կոչէ Արշարունիս. քանզի յառաջ Երասխաձոր կոչէր:
| 90:9 Arshavir, greatly loving the province, called it Arsharunik’ after his own name, because previously it was called Eraskhadzor:

90:10 Ահա ասացաք եւ զպատճառս գալստեան երկուց ցեղիցն, Պարթեւաց եւ Պահլաւկաց:
| 90:10 So we have explained the reasons for the coming of the two clans, the Parthians and the Pahlavik’:

90:11 Զայսու ժամանակաւ կատարէ Տրդատ զշինուած ամրոցին Գառնւոյ, զոր որձաքար եւ կոփածոյ վիմաւք, երկաթագամ եւ կապարով մածուցեալ. յորում շինեալ եւ տուն հովանոց, մահարձանաւք, սքանչելի դրաւշուածովք, բարձր քանդակաւ, ի համար քեռ իւրոյ Խոսրովիդխտոյ, եւ գրեալ ի նմա զյիշատակ իւր հելլենացի գրով:
| 90:11 About that time Trdat completed the construction of the fortress of Garni in hard and dressed blocks of stone cemented with iron clamps and lead. Inside, for his sister Khosrovidukht, he built a shaded residence with towers and wonderful carvings in high relief. And he composed in her memory an inscription in the Greek script:

90:12 Բայց սրբոյն Գրիգորի դարձեալ ի նոյն լերինս` ոչ ումեք յետ այնր յաւելոյր երեւել մինչեւ ցվախճան:
| 90:12 But Saint Gregory returned to the same mountains and thereafter appeared no more to anyone until his death:
