32:1 Պատասխանի թղթոյն Աբգարու, զոր գրեաց Թովմաս առաքեալ հրամանաւ Փրկչին:
| 32:1 The reply to Abgar’s letter, which Thomas the apostle wrote at the command of the Savior:

32:2 Երանի իցէ այնմ, որ հաւատայ յիս` իբրեւ ոչ իցէ նորա տեսեալ զիս. զի գրեալ է վասն իմ այսպէս. Զի որք տեսանենն զիս` ոչ հաւատասցեն յիս, եւ որք ոչն տեսանեն` նոքա հաւատասցեն եւ կեցցեն:
| 32:2 Blessed is he who believes in me without having seen me. For thus it is written concerning me: ‘ Those who see me will not believe in me, and those who do not see me will believe and live. ’:

32:3 Իսկ վասն այնր զի գրեցեր դու առ իս, գալ ինձ առ քեզ` արժան է ինձ կատարել աստ զամենայն ինչ վասն որոյ առաքեցայ ես:
| 32:3 Now as for your writing to me that I should come to you, I must fulfill here everything for which I was sent:

32:4 Եւ իբրեւ կատարեցից զայս` ապա համբարձայց առ այն որ առաքեացն զիս. եւ յորժամ համբարձայց` առաքեցից զմի յաշակերտաց աստի իմոց, զի զցաւս քո բժշկեսցէ, եւ կեանս քեզ եւ որոց ընդ քեզ են շնորհեսցէ:
| 32:4 And when I have completed this, then I shall ascend to Him who sent me. When I have ascended, I shall send one of my disciples to cure your pains and grant life to you and those with you:

32:5 Զայս թուղթ եբեր Անան սուրհանդակ Աբգարու, ընդ որում եւ զկենդանագրութիւն փրկչական պատկերին, որ կայ յԵդեսացւոց քաղաքին մինչեւ ցայսաւր ժամանակի:
| 32:5 Anan, Abgar’s messenger, brought his letter with the Savior’s portrait from life, which has remained in the city of Edessa up to the present day:
