10:2 Այս, ասէ, Հայկ գեղապատշաճ եւ անձնեայ, քաջագանգուր, խայտակն եւ հաստաբազուկ:

10:3 Սա ի մէջ սկայիցն քաջ եւ երեւելի լեալ, եւ ընդդիմակաց ամենեցուն, որք ամբառնային զձեռն` միապետել ի վերայ ամենայն սկայիցն եւ դիւցազանց:

10:5 Քանզի անդ մոլեգնեալ այր իւրաքանչիւր, սուր ի կող ընկերի իւրոյ ձգելով` ջանային տիրել ի վերայ միմեանց. ուր պատահմունք ի դէպ ելանէին Բելայ` բռնանալ ունել զամենայն երկիր:
| 10:5 Each man in his rage had drawn his sword against his neighbor’s flank, and they were attempting to dominate each other. These circumstances enabled Bēl to impose his tyranny on the whole land:

10:6 Որում ոչ կամեցեալ հնազանդ լինել Հայկայ, յետ ծնանելոյ զորդի իւր զԱրամանեակ ի Բաբելոնի՝ չու արարեալ գնայ յերկիրն Արարադայ, որ է ի կողմանս հիւսիսոյ, հանդերձ որդւովք իւրովք եւ դստերաւք եւ որդւոց որդւովք, արամբք զաւրաւորաւք, թուով իբրեւ երեքհարիւր, եւ այլովք ընդոծնաւք եւ եկաւք յարեցելովք ի նա եւ բոլոր աղխիւ:
| 10:6 But Hayk refused to submit to him, and after begetting his son Aramaneak in Babylon he journey to the land of Ararad, which is in the northern regions, with his sons and daughters and sons’ sons, martial men about three hundred in number, and other domestic servants and the outsiders who had joined his service and all his effects:

10:7 Երթեալ բնակէ ի լեռնոտին միում ի դաշտավայրի, յորում սակաւք ի մարդկանէ յառաջագոյն ցրուելոցն դադարեալ բնակէին. զորս հնազանդ իւր արարեալ Հայկ` շինէ անդ տուն բնակութեան կալուածոց եւ տայ ի ժառանգութիւն Կադմեայ որդւոյ Արամանեկայ:
| 10:7 He came and dwelt at the foot of a mountain in a plain where had lingered and dwelt a few of the human race who had been previously scattered. These Hayk subjected to himself, and he built there a residence for the property and gave it in inheritance to Cadmos, the son of Aramaneak:

10:8 Այս արդարացուցանէ զանգիր հին ասացեալ զրոյցս:

10:9 Եւ ինքն խաղայ, ասէ, այլով աղխիւն ընդ արեւմուտս հիւսիսոյ. գայ բնակէ ի բարձրաւանդակ դաշտի միում, եւ անուանէ զանուն լեռնադաշտին Հարք, այս ինքն թէ հարք են աստէն բնակեալք` ազգի տանն Թորգոմայ:

10:10 Շինէ եւ գիւղ մի, եւ անուանէ յիւր անուն Հայկաշէն:

10:11 Յիշի եւ աստանաւր ի պատմութեանս` ի հարաւոյ կողմանէ դաշտիս այսորիկ, առ երկայնանստիւ միով լերամբ, բնակեալ յառաջագոյն արք սակաւք, ինքնակամ հնազանդեալ դիւցազինն:
