19:1 Որ ինչ զկնի մահուանն Շամիրամայ:

19:2 Յարմարեալ զամենայն կարգեցից քեզ ի գիրսս յայսոսիկ զազգիս մերոյ աւագագոյն արս եւ զնախնիս, եւ որ ինչ վասն նոցա զրոյցք եւ իրականութիւնք իւրաքանչիւր, ոչ ինչ կամաց մտածական եւ ոչ ինչ անպատշաճ ի սմա յաւրինելով բան, այլ որ ինչ ի գրոց իսկ. ըստ նմանեացն ապա եւ որ ինչ ի բանից արանց իմաստնոց եւ յայսոսիկ քաջախոհաց, յորոց մեք արդարապէս ջանացաք հաւաքել զհնագրութիւնս:
| 19:2 Putting everything in order, I shall expound to you in this book the greatest men and ancestors of our nation, whatever stories concern them and each one’s deeds, not injecting anything imaginary or unsuitable but repeating only what is taken from books and similarly from wise men learned in these matters, from whom we have attempted to make a judicious collection of antiquarian lore:

19:3 Եւ ասեմք լինել արդարաբան ի պատմութեանս յայսմիկ ըստ մերոյ յաւժարութեան եւ ուղղամտութեան. իսկ ըստ որոց հաւաքումնն` Աստուծոյ լինել յայտնիս, եւ մարդկան գովելիս կամ բասրելիս. մեք այնոցիկ աւտար եւ ի բաց կացեալ:
| 19:3 And we claim to be truthful in this history through our diligence and faithfulness. According to these principles our collection has been made, as is clear to God; but whether men will praise or criticize it is of no import to us:

19:4 Բայց զուգութիւն բարբառոց եւ հաւասարութիւն թուոյ կարգի պատանեացն` զճշմարտութիւն աշխատասիրութեանս մերոյ ակնարկէ:
| 19:4 However, the conformity of the accounts and the equivalence of the numbers of descendants indicate the truth of our labor:

19:5 Եւ այսոցիկ այսպէս կարգելոց, կամ հաւաստի եւ կամ դոյզն ինչ կասեալ յարդարոյն` սկսայց քեզ եւ որ ինչ զկնի այսոցիկ ի Հիւսման պատմութենէ Պիտոյից:
| 19:5 And as these matters are so arranged and exactitude is assured, or almost so, I shall begin to expound for you from the history “ Web of Chries” the events that followed:

19:6 Արդ` յետ մահուանն Շամիրամայ ի Զամեսեայ որդւոյ իւրմէ, որ է Նինուաս, որ եղեւ յետ սպանանելոյն զԱրայն, այսպէս հաւաստեաւ գիտասցուք զկարգ բանից:

19:7 Թագաւորէ Նինուաս, սպանեալ զմայրն հեշտասէր եւ խաղաղական կեցեալ. եւ առ սովաւ Աբրահամու աւուրք բաւեալք:
