31:1 Յաղագս թէ յուղարկեաց զքոյր իւր Տիգրանուհի ի Տիգրանակերտ. եւ վասն Անուշայ, առաջին կնոջն Աժդահակայ, եւ բնակութեան գերւոյն:
| 31:1 That he sent his sister Tigranuhi to Tigranakert, and concerning Anoysh, Azhdahak’s first wife, and the settlement of the prisoners:

31:2 Պատմի եւ այս, թէ զկնի այսպիսի իրաց կատարման` յուղարկէ թագաւորապէս զքոյր իւր Տիգրանուհի մեծաւ ամբոխիւ ի Հայս, յաւանն` զոր շինեաց յիւր անուն Տիգրան, որ է Տիգրանակերտ, եւ զգաւառսն զայնոսիկ ի ծառայութիւն նմա հրամայէ:
| 31:2 This too is told, that after these successful events he sent his sister Tigranuhi with royal pomp and a large escort to Armenia to the city that Tigran had built and called after his own name, Tigranakert. And he ordered those districts to be her appanage:

31:3 Եւ զոստանն անուանեալ կողմանցն այնոցիկ ազատութիւն ի զարմից սորա ասէ լեալս, իբր թագաւորական զարմս:
| 31:3 And he says that the nobility of those regions called Ostan is descended from her as a royal line:

31:4 Իսկ զԱնոյշ, զառաջին կինն Աժդահակայ, եւ զբազումս ի սերմանէն Աժդահակայ աղջկունս, հանդերձ պատանեկաւք եւ բազմութեամբ գերեացն, որչափ թէ աւելի քան զբիւր մի, բնակեցուցանէ յարեւելեայ ուսոյ մեծի լերինն մինչեւ ի սահմանս Գողթան, որ են Տամբատ, Ոսկիողայ, Դաժգոյնք, եւ որ այլք առ եզերբ գետոյն դաստակերտք, յորոց մինն է Վրանջունիք, մինչեւ հանդէպ ամրոցին Նախճաւանու. եւ զերիս աւանսն, զԽրամ եւ զՋուղայ եւ զԽորշակունիս իսկ ի միւս կողմանէ գետոյն. զբոլոր դաշտն, որոյ գլուխն Աժդանական, մինչեւ ցնոյն ինքն ամուրն Նախճաւանու:
| 31:4 But Anoysh, Azhdahak’s first wife, and many princesses of Azhdahak’s seed with young men and a multitude of prisoners, more than ten thousand in number, he settled from the eastern flank of the great mountain as far as the borders of Goḷt’n, that is Tambat, Oskioḷay, Dazhgoynk’, and the other estates on the bank of the river, including Vranjunik’, as far as opposite the castle of Nakhchavan, and the three towns of Khram, Juḷay, and Khorshakunik’ on the other side of the river, the entire plain, whose capital is Azhdanakan, as far as the same castle of Nakhchavan:

31:5 Բայց զնախասացեալ կինն Անոյշ բնակեցուցանէ որդւովք իւրովք յանդորրութեան սպառուածի փլածին մեծի լերինն:
| 31:5 But the aforementioned Queen Anoysh he settled with her sons on the extensive crags of the summit of the great mountain:

31:6 Զորմէ լեալ ասեն յահագին իմն շարժմանէ. զոր պատմեն` որք բազմաշրջութեամբ հրամանաւ Պտղոմեայ ասպարիսաւք զբնակութիւնս մարդկան չափեցին, այլ եւ մասն ինչ զծով եւ զանբնակս յայրեցածէն մինչեւ զՔիմիւռոն:
| 31:6 These came into being from a terrible earthquake, as say those who in many journeys at the command of Ptolemy have measured in stadia the habitat of men and also in part the sea and the uninhabited land from the torrid zone as far as Cimmeria:

31:7 Իսկ պաշտաւնեայս տայ Անուշայ ի նոյն Մարաց, որ առ ոտամբ լերինն բնակեցան:
| 31:7 He gave servants to Anoysh from among the same Medes who dwelt at the foot of the mountain:

31:8 Յայտնեն զայս ճշմարտապէս եւ թուելեացն երգք, զոր պահեցին ախորժելով, որպէս լսեմ, մարդիկ կողմանն գինեւէտ գաւառին Գողթան. յորս շարին բանք երգոցն զԱրտաշիսէ եւ զորդւոց նորա, յիշելով այլաբանաբար եւ զզարմիցն Աժդահակայ, վիշապազունս զնոսա կոչելով. զի Աժդահակդ` ի մեր լեզուս է վիշապ:
| 31:8 This is confirmed by the rhythmic songs that the inhabitants of the wine- producing district of Goḷt’n have lovingly preserved, as I hear; these include songs about Artashēs and his sons, and they recall in allegorical fashion also the descendants of Azhdahak, whom they call descendants of the dragon because Azhdahak in our tongue is dragon:

31:9 Այլ եւ ճաշ ասեն գործեալ Արգաւանայ ի պատիւ Արտաշիսի, եւ խարդաւանակ լեալ նմին ի տաճարին վիշապաց:
| 31:9 They say that Argavan made a feast in honor of Artashēs and there was a plot against him in the temple of the dragons:

31:10 Այլ եւ Արտաւազդայ ոչ գտեալ, ասեն, քաջի որդւոյն Արտաշիսի, տեղեկիկ ապարանից ի հիմնանալն Արտաշատու` նա անց, ասէ, գնաց եւ շինեաց ի մէջ Մարաց զՄարակերտ. որ է ի դաշտին` որ անուանեալ կոչի Շարուրայ:
| 31:10 They also say that Artavazd, the valiant son of Artashēs, did not find a place for his palace when Artashat was founded; so, he crossed over and built Marakert in Media, which is in the plain called Sharur’s:

31:11 Այլ եւ տենչայ, ասեն, Սաթինիկ տիկին տենչանս` զարտախուր խաւարտ եւ զտից խաւարծի ի բարձիցն Արգաւանայ:
| 31:11 But,” they say, “ queen Sat’inik had great desire for the vegetable artakhur and the shoot tits’ from the table of Argavan:

31:12 Եւ արդ` ո՞չ արդեաւք առաւել աստանաւր զարմասցիս ի վերայ մերոյ ճշմարտապատմութեանս, թէ ո՛րպէս յայտնեցաք զանյայտ իրս վիշապաց, որք են յԱզատն ի վեր ի Մասիս:
| 31:12 So are you not now more amazed at the truth of our history, how we have revealed the secrets of the dragons who live up on Noble Masis:
