14:1 Վկայութիւն սրբոյ Յուսկանն եւ Դանիելի:
| 14:1 The martyrdom of Saint Yusik and Daniel:

14:2 Արդ` հասեալ Տիրանայ ի գաւառն Ծոփաց` յիւրում արքայական եկեղեցւոջն կամեցաւ կանգնել զպատկերն:
| 14:2 Now when Tiran reached the province of Tsop’k’, he wished to set up the image in his own royal church:

14:3 Զոր յափշտակեալ սրբոյ Յուսկանն` եհան ի ձեռաց արքայի. եւ ընկեցեալ յերկիր, կոխեալ մանրեաց, զգացուցանելով արքայի զիրին խորամանկութիւն:
| 14:3 But Saint Yusik snatched it from the king’s hands, and throwing it to the ground, trampled on it and broke it to pieces, warning the king about the deceitfulness of the matter:

14:4 Որում ոչ ինչ ունկնդիր եղեւ Տիրան, քանզի երկեաւ ի Յուլիանոսէ, զմտաւ ածելով` մեռանել ինքեան իբրեւ զկոխող թագաւորական պատկերի. եւ յաւելեալ բորբոքումն չարութեանն, զոր ունէր ընդ սրբոյ Յուսկանն, յաղագս հանապազորդ յանդիմանութեան իւրոց յանցանաց` հրամայեաց ջալոտիւք հարկանել յերկար, մինչ ի գանելն աւանդեաց զհոգին:
| 14:4 Tiran paid no heed because he feared Julian and thought that he would be put to death for trampling on the emperor’s image. And even more inflamed at the vexation he suffered from Saint Yusik by his continual reprimands at his transgressions, he ordered him to be beaten for a long time with thongs of ox hide, until he gave up the ghost under the whipping:

14:5 Եւ յետ կատարման նորա թշնամանեալ անիծիւք Տիրան ի ծերունւոյ քահանայէն Դանիելէ, որ աշակերտ էր սրբոյն Գրիգորի եւ հիւպերետ, հրամայեաց զնա խեղդամահ առնել:
| 14:5 After his death Tiran was cursed by the old priest Daniel, who had been a disciple and servant of Saint Gregory’s. So, Tiran ordered him to be strangled:

14:6 Զոր բարձեալ աշակերտացն` թաղեցին ի միայնարանի նորին, որ կոչի Հացեաց դրախտ:
| 14:6 His disciples took him and buried him in his hermitage called “ the garden of ash trees:

14:7 Իսկ զմարմին սրբոյ Յուսկանն բարձեալ տարան առ հայր իւր ի գիւղն Թորդան. որ եկաց յեպիսկոպոսութեանն ամս վեց:
| 14:7 The body of Saint Yusik they placed beside his father in the village of T’ordan. He had been in the episcopate for six years:
