33:1 Յաղագս թագաւորելոյն Թէոդոսի մեծի, եւ ժողովոյն որ եղեւ վասն հոգեմարտացն:
| 33:1 Concerning the reign of Theodosius the Great, and the council that was held concerning the Pneumatomachoi:
| 33:2 Բայց Վաղեսի կայսեր ըստ արժանի իւրոց խորհրդոցն զյաւիտենական գեհենին աստէն բերելով զաւրինակ, հրակէզ եղեալ յԱդրիանուպաւլիս` սատակեցաւ. եւ առնու զթագն Թէոդոս:
| 33:2 Emperor Valens, according to the deserts of his intentions, suffering here the example of eternal hell, was consumed by fire at Adrianople and perished, and Theodosius received the crown:
| 33:3 Սա քակեաց զմեհեանս կռոցն մինչեւ յատակս, զփակեալսն միայն ի սրբոյն Կոստանդիանոսէ, զանուանեալն Արեգական եւ Արտեմեայ եւ Ափրոդիտեայ ի Բիւզանդիոն. աւերեաց նոյնպէս եւ զտաճարն Դամասկոսի, եւ արար եկեղեցի. նոյնպէս եւ զտաճարն Իլիու քաղաքի, զԼիբանոսի զմեծ եւ զհռչակաւոր զերեքբարեանն:
| 33:3 He tore down to the ground the temples of the idols, which had only been closed by Saint Constantine, those dedicated to the sun and to Artemis and to Aphrodite in Byzantium. He likewise destroyed the temple of Damascus and made it into a church, and did the same to the temple of Heliopolis, the great and famous trilithion of Lebanon:
| 33:4 Սա դարձոյց զամենայն հարս սուրբս, որք յաղագս ուղղափառութեանն արտասահմանեալ էին ի մետաղս, ընդ որս եւ զմեծն Ներսէս ածեալ առ իւր ի Բիւզանդիոն` պահէ մեծաւ պատուով, մինչեւ ճշմարտութեանն ստուգեցաւ հաւատ, որ յաղագս ամբարշտին Մակեդոնի հայհոյութեանցն. զի ոչ Տէր խոստովանէր զՀոգին սուրբ, եւ ոչ երկրպագելի եւ ոչ փառաւորելի ընդ Հաւր եւ ընդ Որդւոյ, այլ աւտար յԱստուծոյ բնութենէն, եւ ստացական եւ ծառայ եւ պաշտաւնեայ, եւ ազդումն ինչ, եւ ոչ էութիւն անձնաւոր:
| 33:4 He restored all the holy fathers who had been exiled to the mines for their orthodoxy. Among these was Nersēs the Great, whom he brought to see him at Byzantium and kept with great honor until the true faith was confirmed with regard to the blasphemies of the impious Macedonius. For the latter did not confess the Holy Spirit as Lord or as worthy of worship and praise with the Father and the Son but held him to be alien to the nature of God and created, and a servant and a minister, and a force and not a personal being:
| 33:5 Եւ ժողովեալ սուրբ հարքն ի թագաւորեալ քաղաքն Բիւզանդիոն, Դամասկոս Հռոմայ, Նեքտառիոս Կոստանդնուպաւլսի, Տիմոթէոս Աղեքսանդրի, Մելիտոս Անտիոքու, Կիւրղոս Երուսաղէմի, Գրիգորիոս Նիւսիայ, Գեղասիոս Կեսարու, Գրիգորիոս Նաձիանձու, Անփիւլոքսիոս Իկոնիու, եւ այլ եպիսկոպոսք, միանգամայն հարիւր եւ յիսուն հարք, որք նզովեալ մերժեցին զՄակեդոն եւ զամենայն հոգեմարտս:
| 33:5 The holy fathers gathered in the royal city of Byzantium: Damasus of Rome, Nectar of Constantinople, Timothy of Alexandria, Meletius of Antioch, Cyril of Jerusalem, Gregory of Nyssa, Gelasius of Caesarea, Gregory of Nazianz, Amphilocius of Iconium, and other bishops, altogether one hundred and fifty fathers, who anathematized and excommunicated Macedonius and all the Pneumatomachoi:
