24:1 Յաղագս որդւոց Սենեքերիմայ, եւ թէ Արծրունիք եւ Գնունիք եւ բդեաշխն անուանեալ Աղձնեաց` ի նոցանէ են սերեալք. եւ ի նոյն ճառի` եթէ Անգեղ տունն ի Պասքամայ:
| 24:1 Concerning the sons of Senek’erim, from whom are descended the Artsruni and the Gnuni and the bdeashkh called of Aḷdznik’; and in the same chapter, that the house of Angḷ derives from Pask’am:

24:2 Այլ յառաջ քան զձեռնարկելն մեր ի բանսն որ յաղագս մեծին Տիգրանայ, որ իններորդ ի բնկաց մերոց պսակաւորաց էր, հուժկու, անուանի եւ յաղթող ընդ այլ աշխարհակալս` ճառեսցուք որ ինչ կարեւորագոյնն է ոճոյ բանիս:
| 24:2 Now before we undertake the history of Tigran the Great, who was the ninth of our native crowned kings, strong and renowned and victorious over other rulers, let us recount what is most important for the coherence of our work:

24:3 Եւ ի մոռացումն եկն արդեաւք յաղագս Սենեքերիմայ. քանզի ութսուն, աւելի կամ պակաս, ամաւք յառաջ քան զթագաւորութիւնն Նաբուգոդոնոսորայ էր Սենեքերիմս կացեալ արքայ Ասորեստանի. որ զԵրուսաղէմ պաշարեաց առ Եզեկիայի:
| 24:3 The story concerning Senek’erim has fallen into oblivion. Eighty years, more or less, before the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Assyria was Senek’erim, who besieged Jerusalem in the time of Hezekiah, the leader of the Jews:

24:4 Հրէից առաջնորդաւ. զոր սպանեալ որդւոց նորա Ադրամելեքայ եւ Սանասարայ` եղին փախստական առ մեզ:
| 24:4 But his sons Adramelek’ and Sanasar killed him and fled to us:

24:5 Յորոց զմինն յարեւմտից հարաւոյ աշխարհիս մերոյ, մերձ ի սահմանս նորին Ասորեստանի, բնակեցուցանէ Սկայորդին մեր քաջ նախնին, այս ինքն է զՍանասարն. եւ ի սմանէ աճումն եւ բազմասերութիւն լեալ` լցին զՍիմն ասացեալ լեառն:
| 24:5 One of these, that is, Sanasar, our valiant ancestor Skayordi settled in the southwest of our land, near the borders of the same Assyria; his descendants multiplied and propagated and filled the mountain called Sim:

24:6 Իսկ պերճքն եւ գլխաւորքն ի նոցանէ յետոյ ուրեմն մտերմութիւն վաստակոց առ թագաւորսն մեր ցուցեալ` զբդեշխութիւն կողմանցն արժանաւորեցան առնուլ:
| 24:6 The most illustrious and foremost among them, showing thereafter friendly services to our kings, were honored with the vitaxate of those regions:

24:7 Իսկ Արդամոզանն յարեւելից հարաւոյ նորին կողմանն բնակեալ. ի սմանէ ասէ պատմագիրն լինել զԱրծրունիս եւ զԳնունիս:
| 24:7 Now Ardamozan dwelt to the southeast of the same area, and from him, says the historian, descend the Artsruni and Gnuni:

24:8 Արդ` յիշելոյն մեր զՍենեքերիմ այս էր պատճառն:
| 24:8 This is the reason for our remembering Senek’erim:

24:9 Բայց զԱնգեղ տունն ասէ նոյն պատմագիր ի Պասքամայ ումեմնէ ի Հայկայ թոռնէ լինել:
| 24:9 But the same historian says that the house of Angḷ descends from a certain Pask’am, grandson of Haykak:
