47:1 Թագաւորել Արտաշիսի եւ առնել բարիս իւրոց երախտաւորացն:

47:2 Յետ մահուանն Երուանդայ մտեալ Սմբատայ զարքունականսն յուզէր զգանձսն. եւ գտեալ զթագն Սանատրկոյ արքայի` դնէ ի գլուխն Արտաշիսի եւ թագաւորեցուցանէ ի վերայ ամենայն երկրիս Հայոց ի քսան եւ իններորդի ամի Դարեհի Պարսից արքայի:
| 47:2 After the death of Eruand Smbat entered the city and sought out the royal treasures. Finding the crown of King Sanatruk, he placed it on Artashēs’ head and made him king over all of Armenia in the twenty- ninth year of Darius, king of Persia:

47:3 Իսկ Արտաշիսի առեալ զթագաւորութիւնն` տայ պարգեւս զաւրացն Մարաց եւ Պարսից, եւ արձակեաց յաշխարհն իւրեանց:
| 47:3 Having gained the throne, Artashēs gave presents to the armies of the Medes and Persians and dispatched them to their own country:

47:4 Տայ եւ առնն քաջի եւ պատուականի Արգամայ զխոստացեալ գահն երկրորդական, եւ պսակ յակնթակապ, եւ գինդ յերկոսին ականջսն, եւ կարմիր զգեստ միոյ ոտինն. տարգալ ունել ոսկի եւ պատառաքաղ, եւ ոսկեղինաւք ըմպել նուագաւք:
| 47:4 He also gave to the brave and honorable Argam the second rank that he had promised, a crown decorated with sapphires, rings for both ears, a red slipper for the one foot, the right to have a golden spoon and fork and to drink from golden goblets:

47:5 Եւ ոչ ինչ ընդհատ յայսց պատուոց տայ դայեկին իւրում Սմբատայ, բայց միայն յերկուց գնդացն եւ ի կարմիր կաւշկէ. եւ աւելի քան զհայրենական զիւր թագակապ ասպետութիւնն եւ զիշխանութիւնն արեւմտեայ զաւրուն` հաւատայ ի նա զամենայն զաւրս Հայոց, եւ զբոլոր աշխարհիս զգործակալս եւ զհամաւրէն տունն արքունի:
| 47:5 He bestowed nothing less than these honors on his tutor Smbat except for the two earrings and the red slipper. And in addition to his hereditary privileges - of coronant, of aspet, and of the authority over the army of the west - he entrusted him with control over the entire Armenian army, over the governors of the whole land, and over all the royal household:

47:6 Եւ զՆերսէս զորդի որդւոյն իւրոյ ստընտուին Գիսակայ, ազգ զնա սերելով` անուն կոչէ զնահատակութեանց հաւրն եւ Դիմաքսեան. քանզի, որպէս ասացաքն` զկէս դիմացն սուսերաւ ի վայր բերին ի վերայ Արտաշիսի:
| 47:6 And Nersēs, son of Gisak, son of his wet nurse, he raised to princely rank and named Dimak’sean after the heroic exploits of his father. For as we have said, half of his face was cut off by a sword for the cause of Artashēs:

47:7 Պատմի սորա ի նոյն աւուրս սերեալ ազգ եւ զորդիսն Տուրայ, պատանիս հինգ հանդերձ տասամբ, յանուն հաւրն իւրեանց Տրունիս. ոչ վասն արութեան ինչ գործոց, այլ միայն վասն քսութեան հաւր նոցա, զոր առնէր ի տանէն արքայի առ Սմբատ, քանզի ընտանի էր Երուանդայ, սակս նորին եւ սպանաւ ի նմանէ:
| 47:7 It is said that in those same days he also raised to princely rank the sons of Toyr, fifteen young men, and called them Truni after their father’s name - not because of any brave deeds but merely because of the informing that their father had done from the king’s house for Smbat; for he was a confidant of Eruand’s, and for that reason he had been put to death by him:
