77:1 Յաղագս խաղաղութեան Պարսից եւ Յունաց, եւ շինելոյ Արտաշրի զՀայս յամս անիշխանութեանն:
| 77:1 Concerning the peace between the Persians and the Greeks, and Artashir’s accomplishments in Armenia during the years of anarchy:

77:2 Բայց Յունաց թագաւորեաց Պռոբոս, եւ խաղաղութիւն արարեալ ընդ Արտաշրի` բաժանէ զաշխարհս, սահմանադրութեամբ փոսս գործելով:
| 77:2 Probus became emperor of the Greeks, and, making peace with Artashir, he divided our land and dug ditches to mark the frontiers:

77:3 Եւ Արտաշրի նուաճեալ զազգ նախարարացն` զգաղթեալսն անդրէն դարձուցանէ, եւ զամրականսն ի վայր իջուցանէ, բայց ի նախարարէ ումեմնէ, որոյ անուն Օտայ կոչէր, ի տոհմէն Ամատունեաց, որ փեսայ էր ազգին Սղկունեաց եւ սնուցող Խոսրովիդխտոյ, դստեր Խոսրովայ, որջացեալ յամուրն Անի` իբր ի կաղաղի հանդարտութեան ղաւղեալ:
| 77:3 Artashir subjected the nobility, brought back those who had emigrated, and destroyed their fortified places - except for a certain noble called Awtay from the family of the Amatunik’, who was related by marriage to that of the Sḷkunik’ and was the foster father of Khosrovidukht, the daughter of Khosrov. He had ensconced himself in the fortress of Ani, as if hidden in a tranquil lair:

77:4 Իսկ Արտաշրի գեղեցկապէս յարդարեալ զաշխարհս Հայոց` ի կարգ առաջին հաստատէր:
| 77:4 Artashir organized Armenia in a splendid fashion and reestablished its former order:

77:5 Նա եւ զԱրշակունիսն, զմեկուսացեալսն ի թագէն եւ յԱյրարատն բնակելոյ, կարգէ ի նոյն տեղիս մտիւք եւ ռոճկաւք, որպէս եւ էինն:
| 77:5 Likewise the Arsacids, who had been deprived of the crown and of their residence in Ayrarat, he reestablished in the same place with their former revenues and emoluments:

77:6 Եւ զմեհենիցն պաշտամունս առաւել եւս յորդորէ. այլ եւ զհուրն որմզդական, որ ի վերայ բագնին որ ի Բագաւան, անշէջ հրամայէ լուցանել:
| 77:6 He increased the cults of the temples and ordered the fire of Ormizd, which was on the altar at Bagavan, to be kept perpetually burning:

77:7 Բայց զանդրիսն, զոր արար Վաղարշակ պատկեր իւրոց նախնեացն հանդերձ արեգակամբ եւ լուսնիւ յԱրմաւիր, եւ փոխեցան յԱրմաւրայ ի Բագարան եւ դարձեալ յԱրտաշատ` զայնոսիկ փշրէ Արտաշիր:
| 77:7 But the statues that Vaḷarshak had set up as the images of his ancestors with those of the sun and moon at Armavir, and which had been transferred from Armavir to Bagaran and then brought to Artashat, these Artashir broke up:

77:8 Եւ զերկիրս գրով ընդ հարկաւ իւրով արկանէ, եւ ամենեւիմբ զիւր անունն հաստատէ:
| 77:8 He subjected the land to tribute by an edict and completely consolidated his own authority:

77:9 Նա եւ զսահմանս հաստատեալս յԱրտաշիսէ, զքարինս յերկրի կացուցանելով, նորոգեաց, եւ յիւր անունն փոխելով Արտաշիրական անուանեաց:
| 77:9 Furthermore he renewed the frontiers established by Artashēs by setting stones in the ground, and he changed their name to his own, “ Artashirakan:

77:10 Եւ կալաւ զաշխարհս մեր որպէս զմի յաշխարհացն իւրոց, պարսիկ գործակալաւք, ամս քսան եւ վեց. եւ յետ նորա որդի նորին, որ անուանեցաւն Շապուհ, որ լսի Արքայամանուկ ցթագաւորելն, Տրդատայ, ամ մի:
| 77:10 He governed our land like one of his own territories with Persian governors for twenty- six years, and after him, for one year until the reign of Trdat, his son Shapuh - which means “ child of the king:
