10:1 Վախճան Խոսրովու, եւ պատերազմ Հայոց ընդ Պարսս:
| 10:1 The death of Khosrov and the war of the Armenians with the Persians:

10:2 Յետ այսորիկ գիտացեալ Խոսրովայ, թէ ձեռն Շապհոյ Պարսից արքայի ընդ թշնամիսն է` լուծանէ զխաղաղութիւնն որ ընդ նմա, եւ զմասնաւոր հարկսն արգելու ի նմանէ, տալով եւ զայն կայսեր. եւ ածելով զզաւրս Յունաց` ընդդիմանայ արքային Պարսից:
| 10:2 After this, when Khosrov realized that Shapuh, the Persian king, was assisting his enemies, he broke the peace he had with him and withheld from him the special tribute, giving it instead to the emperor. And bringing up the Greek army he opposed the Persian king:

10:3 Բայց ոչ յերկարեալ զկեանս իւր` վախճանի, թագաւորեալ ամս ինն. եւ բարձեալ զնա` թաղեցին յԱնի առ հարս իւր:
| 10:3 But he lived not much longer before dying, having reigned for nine years. He was taken and buried in Ani beside his fathers:

10:4 Եւ ժողովեալ մեծին Վրթանիսի զամենայն նախարարս Հայոց, հանդերձ զաւրաւք եւ զաւրապետաւք, յանձն առնէ զաշխարհս Արշաւրի Կամսարականի, որպէս գլխաւորի եւ յոյժ պատուականի յետ արքայի:
| 10:4 Vrt’anēs gathered all the Armenian princes with the army and the generals and entrusted the land of Armenia to Arshavir Kamsarakan, as the preeminent and most honorable man after the king:

10:5 Եւ իւր առեալ զՏիրան որդի Խոսրովու` գնայ առ կայսր, զի թագաւոր Հայոց ի տեղի հաւր իւրոյ կացուսցէ:
| 10:5 Then he took Tiran, Khosrov’s son, and went to the emperor to ask that he might make him king of Armenia in his father’s stead:

10:6 Իսկ արքայն Պարսից Շապուհ իբրեւ լուաւ զմահն Խոսրովու, եւ եթէ որդի նորա Տիրան առ կայսր գնաց` գումարէ զաւրս բազումս ի ձեռն Ներսեհի եղբաւր իւրոյ, որպէս թէ թագաւորեցուցանել զնա Հայոց խորհեցեալ, եւ առաքէ յաշխարհս մեր, իբրեւ անառաջնորդ զսա վարկուցեալ:
| 10:6 But the Persian king Shapuh, when he heard of Khosrov’s death and that his son Tiran had gone to the emperor, gathered a great army under his brother Nerseh, as if he intended to make him king of Armenia. And he sent them to our country since he considered it to be leaderless:

10:7 Որոց պատահեալ քաջին Արշաւրի Կամսարականի հանդերձ ամենայն Հայաստանեայցս զաւրու, ճակատ տուեալ ի Մռուղն անուանեալ դաշտի:
| 10:7 But they were opposed by the valiant Arshavir Kamsarakan with all the Armenian forces, who gave battle on the plain called Mṙuḷ:

10:8 Եւ թէպէտ եւ բազումք ի մեծամեծ նախարարացն անկան ի պատերազմին, սակայն յաղթեալ Հայոց գնդին` փախստական առնեն զզաւրս Պարսից, եւ պահեն զաշխարհս մինչեւ զգալն Տիրանայ:
| 10:8 And although many of the greatest nobles fell in the war, nonetheless the Armenian army, gaining the victory, put the Persian army to flight and guarded the land until Tiran’s arrival:
