44:1 Եթէ ո՛րպէս մեծարեաց Խոսրով զՍահակ ասպետ. եւ նահատակութիւնք նորին ի յեղուզակս ազգին Վանանդացւոց:
| 44:1 How Khosrov honored Sahak the aspet, and his heroic exploits against the brigands of the Vanandats’i clan:

44:2 Բայց Խոսրով մեծապէս ուրախ եղեւ ընդ գալն Սահակայ ասպետի, եւ սպարապետ զնա ի վերայ զաւրաց իւրոց կարգեաց. եւ դարձոյց ի նա զկալուածս հայրենիս, եւ այլ աւանս հանդերձ ագարակաւք պարգեւեաց նմա յայնոցիկ ժառանգութենէ, որք ի բաժնոյն Պարսից առ Արշակայ մնացին:
| 44:2 Khosrov, greatly pleased at the arrival of Sahak the aspet, made him commander- in- chief of his own army. He also restored to him his ancestral possessions and bestowed on him other towns with their farmlands from the inheritance of those from the Persian sector who had remained with Arshak:

44:3 Զայսու աւուրբք ոմանք յազգէն Վանանդացւոց ապստամբեցին ի Խոսրովայ. եւ ոչ յոք ապաւինեցան, այլ ամրացան ի մայրիս լերանց իւրեանց եւ յանձուկս Տայոց քարանց. յեղուզակաբար արշաւանաւք յիշխանութիւն երկոցունց թագաւորացն Հայոց խռովէին զաշխարհս եւ անհանգիստ պահէին:
| 44:3 In those days some members of the Vanandats’i clan rebelled against Khosrov. They did not take refuge with anyone but entrenched themselves in the forests of their own mountains and in the recesses of the caves of Tayk’. by their raids for plunder into the territory of both kings of Armenia, they disturbed the land and kept it in turmoil:

44:4 Յորոց վերայ չոգաւ սպարապետն Խոսրովայ Սահակ ասպետ, եւ զբազումս ի նոցանէ սատակեաց, եւ զբազումս փախստական արար ի կողմանս Չորրորդ Հայոց:
| 44:7 Khosrov’s commander, Sahak the aspet, marched against them, slaughtered many, and made many others flee to Fourth Armenia:

44:5 Զի ոչ յերկիրն Խաղտեաց անկան, ի Յոյնս ապաւինելով, եւ ոչ առ թագաւորն Արշակ անցին. այլ զաւազակս ոմանս, որ ի կողմանս Չորրորդ Հայոց էին, ի սահմանս Ասորւոց, դիմեցին ապաստան առնել:
| 44:5 They did not rush to the land of Khaḷtik’ and take refuge among the Greeks, nor did they go to King Arshak, but they went for refuge to some robbers in Fourth Armenia on the Syrian borders:

44:6 Քանզի Վանանդացիք զաւազակութեան գործ մեծ ցանկութեամբ գործէին, եւ որպէս ուղիղ իրք ախորժելի թուէին նոցա:
| 44:6 for the Vanandats’ik’ engaged in robbery with great enthusiasm, and it seemed to them a reasonable and enjoyable thing:

44:7 Զորոց ձիգ զհետ մտեալ Սահակայ` վարէ յերկար մինչեւ ի սահմանս Մանանաղւոյ:
| 44:7 Sahak pursued directly after them and drove them off as far as the borders of Mananaḷi:
