76:1 Դիմումն ի մեզ Արտաշրի, եւ յաղթել կայսեր Տակիտոսի:
| 76:1 Artashir’s attack against us, and his victory over the Emperor Tacitus:

76:2 Նոյն այր ասէ, եթէ յետ սուսերահարն լինելոյ Խոսրովու, միաբանեալ նախարարք Հայոց` ածեն իւրեանց յաւգնականութիւն զզաւրս Յունաց որ ի Փռիւգիայ` Պարսից ընդդիմանալ եւ պահել զաշխարհս:
| 76:2 This same man says that after the murder of Khosrov the Armenian princes united and brought to their own assistance the Greek army, which was in Phrygia, to oppose the Persians and save the country:

76:3 Եւ իսկոյն ազդեցին Վաղերիանոսի կայսեր:
| 76:3 And straightway they informed the Emperor Valerian:

76:4 Բայց վասն զի Գուդք անցեալ ընդ Դանուբ գետ զբազում գաւառս գերի վարեցին, եւ զԿիւկղադայ կղզիս աւար առին` վասն որոյ ոչ ժամանէ մերոյ աշխարհիս թեւարկել Վաղերիանոս. նա եւ ոչ յերկարէ զկեանսն, առնլով ի նմանէ զթագաւորութիւնն Կղաւդիոս, եւ յետ նորա Աւրեղիանոս, հուպ ընդ հուպ փոխանորդելով զմիմեանս. այլ եւ ամսականաւք թագաւորեալ Կիւնտոս եւ Տակիտոս եւ Փղոռիանոս եղբարք:
| 76:4 But because the Goths, crossing the River Danube, had taken many provinces captive and had plundered the Cyclades Islands, for that reason Valerian was not in time to protect our land. Nor did he live much longer; Claudius gained the throne from him, and after him Aurelian, following each other in quick succession. Within a few months there reigned the brothers Quintus and Tacitus and Florian:

76:5 Վասն որոյ համարձակաբար արշաւեալ ի մեզ Արտաշրի, եւ զզաւրս Յունաց փախստական արարեալ, գերելով զյոլով մասն աշխարհիս` յաւեր դարձուցանէ:
| 76:5 Therefore Artashir freely invaded us and, putting the Greek army to flight, took captive the major part of the country and turned it into a wilderness:

76:6 Յորմէ գաղթեալ նախարարքն Հայոց, հանդերձ ազգաւն Արշակունեաց ի Յոյնս ապաւինէին. յորոց մի էր եւ Արտաւազդ Մանդակունի, որոյ առեալ զՏրդատ որդի Խոսրովու` ի դուռն կայսեր հասուցանէր:
| 76:6 Fleeing from him the Armenian nobles, with the Arsacid family, took refuge in Greece. Among them was Artavazd Mandakuni, who took Trdat, son of Khosrov, and brought him to the imperial court:

76:7 Վասն որոյ հարկաւորեալ Տակիտոս` ընդդէմ Արտաշրի գայ զկողմամբք Պոնտոսի, եւ զեղբայր իւր զՓղոռիանոս այլով գնդաւ ընդ Կիւլիկիայ արձակէ:
| 76:7 Therefore Tacitus was obliged to come to oppose Artashir in the regions of Pontus, and he sent his brother Florian with another army to Cilicia:

76:8 Իսկ Արտաշիր հասեալ ի Տակիտոս` ի փախուստ դարձուցանէ, որ եւ սպանաւ ի յիւրոցն ի Ճանիւս Պոնտացւոց, որ են Խաղտիք. նոյնպէս եւ եղբայր նորա Փղոռիանոս յետ ութսուն եւ ութ աւուր ի Տարսոն:
| 76:8 But Artashir overtook Tacitus and put him to flight. The latter was killed by his own troops in Chaniuk’ in Pontus, that is, Khaḷtik’; likewise, his brother Florian was killed eighty- eight days later in Tarsus:
