30:0 How Vahrich, son of Vahrich, came from the king of Iran with [400000] troops and battled with the king of Armenia; and how he and his entire army fell into the hands of sparapet Vasak and his troops:
| 30:0 Յաղագս Վահրիճայ, որ չորեքհարիւր բիւրուն գայր հասանէր, տայր պատերազմ ընդ Արշակայ արքային. եւ զիա՛րդ մատնեցաւ ի ձեռս Վասակայ զօրավարին Հայոց ամենայն զօրօքն հանդերձ:
| 30:1 Then came Vahrich son of Vahrich with [400000] Iranian troops sent by king Shapuh to loot and destroy the country of the troops of the Armenian kingdoms. They arrived at a place called Maxazean:
| 30:1 Ապա գայր հասանէր Վահրիճ ի Վահրիճայ, եւ զօրքն Պարսից չորեքհարիւր բիւրուն առաքեալ ի Շապհոյ արքայէն ի վերայ Հայաստան աշխարհին, աւար առնուլ եւ կորուսանել զերկիրն զօրացն թագաւորութեանցն Հայոց. եւ գային հասանէին ի տեղին, որ կոչին Մախազեան:
| 30:2 But then general Vasak, with [40,000] troops rose against him. He struck and killed his troops, killed Vahrich, destroying the Iranian troops and leaving none of them alive. And he protected the borders of his country:
| 30:2 Ապա քառասուն հազարաւ ելանէր Վասակ զօրավարն ընդդէմ նոցա. հարկանէր սատակէր զզօրս նոցա, սպանանէր զՎահրիճն, եւ կոտորէր զզօրսն Պարսից, եւ ոչ թողոյր ի նոցանէ եւ ոչ մի. եւ զգուշանայր զսահմանօք երկրին իւրոյ:
