47:0 About the Mages handerjapet who came with [180000] men to fight with the king of the Armenians, and how he was destroyed like his predecessors:
| 47:0 Յաղագս Մոգաց հանդերձապետին` որ գայր հասանէր ութուտասն բիւրուն, տալ ճակատ ընդ թագաւորին Հայոց. եւ սա կործանէր իբրեւ զառաջինսն:

47:1 Then the Mogats (Mages) anderjapet arrived with [180000] troops to war against king Arshak of Armenia:

47:2 All the troops of the country assembled in one place, as did Vasak, the general sparapet who was the dayeak of Arshak, king of Armenia:
| 47:2 Ապա գնային հասանէին ի մի վայր ամենայն զօրքն հայաստան երկրին եւ Վասակ զօրավարն սպարապետն, որ էր դայեակ թագաւորին Հայոց Արշակայ:

47:3 Although they hurried as fast as they could, they were barely able to reach the Iranians in Maghxazan:
| 47:3 Եթէ կարի շատ աճապարեալ հասանէին, այնչափ ժամանեցին` մինչեւ ի Մաղխազան կարացին հասանել:

47:4 There the two brigades clashed with each other. The Iranian troops were defeated and went fleeing from the sight of general Vasak and all the Armenian troops:
| 47:4 Եւ անդ ընդ միմեանս գունդն երկոքեան բախէին. ի պարտութիւն մատնեցան զօրքն Պարսից, փախստական լինէին յերեսաց Վասակայ զօրավարին եւ ամենայն զօրացն Հայոց:

47:5 There they killed the Mogats anderjapet, and exterminated the troops. However, only Meruzhan, mounted on a tacik horse, fled:
