27:0 How the Iranian general Andikan came with [400000] men to loot the country of the Armenians; and how the sparapet Vasak with [120000] Armenian troops went in advance of him and destroyed the Iranian troops and their commander:
| 27:0 Յաղագս զօրավարին Պարսից Անդիկանայ, որ քառասուն բիւրուն հասանէր` աւար առնուլ զերկիրն Հայոց. թէ զիա՛րդ Վասակ սպարապետն Հայոց ելանէր ընդ առաջ նորա երկոտասան բիւրու, հարկանէր զնա եւ զզօրս նորա:
| 27:1 Then the king of Iran sent against the king of Armenia a brigade of organized, prepared men, his select warriors, and [400000] troops to come, take, burn and destroy the country of Armenia. Andikan, who was their military commander, arrived and pillaged the country of Armenia:
| 27:1 Ապա յետ այսորիկ առաքէր արքայն Պարսից ի վերայ արքային Հայոց գունդ կազմեալ պատրաստեալ արս ընդիրս պատերազմողս իւր եւ զքառասուն բիւր, գալ առնուլ այրել աւերել զերկիրն Հայաստան, եւ Անդկան զօրագլուխ նոցա գայր հասանէր ասպատակ առնէր յերկիրն Հայոց:
| 27:2 But then Vasak Mamikonean, the sparapet of Armenia, came before him with [120000] troops. They struck and killed Andikan and his troops, taking their ornaments, and not sparing a single one of them. And Vasak himself, valliantly held the site of the battle:
| 27:2 Ապա գայր հասանէր ընդ առաջ նորա Վասակ մամիկոնեան սպարապետն Հայոց երկոտասան բիւրուք. հարկանէր սատակէր զնա եւ զզօրս նորա, թափէր զզարդ նոցա, եւ ոչ ապրեցուցանէր մի ի նոցանէ եւ ոչ մի. եւ ինքն կայր քաջութեամբ ունելով զճակատուն տեղի:
